Definition

Assist Head Start staff in providing a comprehensive education services program to Head Start children in accordance with the Federal Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS). Work with the Education/Disabilities Coordinator and Education Coach to build relationships with children and families to reach individual school readiness goals. Use developmentally appropriate practices (DAP), to construct a safe and well-structured classroom environment that gives children the opportunity to explore, learn, and engage with peers and adults.

Minimum Requirements

Individual who fulfills this position MUST:

  • In accordance with HSPPS 1302.91 (e)(2)(ii) individuals must have at least an associate’s or bachelor's degree in child development or early childhood education, equivalent coursework, or otherwise meet the requirements of section 648A(a)(3)(B) of the Head Start Act.

  • Be able to meet ALL Wyoming Childcare Licensing Rules and  regulations for administrative and teaching staff

  • Maintain a current 1st Aid and CPR certificate

Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience working in Head Start

  • Working with children in an early childhood setting

Definition

Assist classroom teachers and education supervisor with ensuring a quality learning experience is available to every Head Start child and provide a comprehensive education services program in accordance with the Federal Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS). Assist teacher(s) by building relationship with families, creating daily classroom activities, experiences, and lesson plans. Work with children to support their success in the classroom.

Minimum Requirements

Individual who fulfills this position MUST:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED

  • In accordance with HSPPS 1302.91 individuals must work toward his/her CDA within two years of hire.

  • Be able to meet ALL Wyoming Childcare Licensing Rules and Regulations for administrative and teaching staff

  • Maintain a current 1st Aid and CPR certificate

Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience working in Head Start

  • Working with children in an early childhood setting

  • CDA or working toward certification
